LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sodexo Senior Living upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining
Award by the Colonie Senior Service Centers

WHEREAS, Senior citizens planted the seeds that made our communities
grow and prosper; their past contributions and future participation are
a vital part of, and valuable asset to, the fabric of community life;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize insti-
tutions which faithfully serve the needs of the community and its citi-
zens with diligence and compassionate commitment to improving the quali-
ty and dignity of life in the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sodexo Senior Living upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining Award by the Colonie Senior
Service Centers; this momentous occasion was celebrated at its 13th
Annual Founders' Awards Dinner on Monday, October 20, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The Colonie Senior Service Centers (CSSC) is a nonprofit,
community-based senior service organization serving seniors and their
families throughout the Capital Region for the past 30 years; each year
the Founders' Award Dinner honors six businesses and community leaders
who reflect the commitment, vision and leadership exemplified by the
founders of CSSC; and
WHEREAS, A longtime partner of Colonie Senior Service Centers, Sodexo
Senior Living has gone above and beyond to meet the dining needs of its
seniors; and
WHEREAS, Sodexo Senior Living provides an affordable, nutritious hot
lunch each day to diners at the six locations of CSSC's Senior Dining
program; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this exceptional organization serves all of the
meals at the Lakeview Restaurant, and caters many local and corporate
events throughout the year, each with a community and caring approach;
and
WHEREAS, This significant milestone is an excellent opportunity to
recognize the special contributions of Sodexo Senior Living and the
dedicated individuals who strive to better the quality of life for
senior citizens in the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sodexo Senior Living upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Jan Susan Medved Senior Dining Award by the Colonie
Senior Service Centers; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sodexo Senior Living.
