LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Elmwood
Taco and Subs in Buffalo, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 40th Anniversary of Elmwood Taco and Subs in Buffalo, New
York; and
WHEREAS, In 1975, Ron Lucchino established the first Elmwood Taco and
Subs with a goal of providing Buffalo residents with an alternative to
traditional fast food; and
WHEREAS, For the past four decades, Elmwood Taco and Subs has provided
its community with exceptional cuisine made with fresh ingredients,
original recipes, and fast service in a spotlessly clean location; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable restaurant has expanded and grown over the
years to include such traditional Mexican favorites as tacos, burritos,
and chimichangas, as well as such local Buffalo specialties as chicken
finger subs; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Elmwood Taco and Subs has also become known
throughout the Buffalo area and beyond for its specialty items, original
sauces, and homemade chili in the cold winter months; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Elmwood Taco and Subs relocated to a brand new
building equipped with many customer friendly amenities including a
large dining area with an ultra-modern decor, and a drive-thru window
for faster service; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the past 40 years, Elmwood Taco and Subs has
proudly remained a family-owned business; the Lucchino family remains
dedicated to providing their many loyal patrons with outstanding custom-
er service, and the highest quality of food for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Elmwood Taco and
Subs; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced over the past four decades; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Elmwood Taco and Subs in Buffalo,
New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Elmwood Taco and Subs.
