LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Quest Youth Organization upon the
occasion of its 9th Annual Recital and Awards Celebration on June 13,
2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention to
individuals and organizations that devote their time and energies to the
cultural enrichment of the Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves
through their outstanding achievements in the performing arts; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Quest Youth Organization upon the occasion of its 9th Annual Recital and
Awards Celebration to be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at
Stephen Decatur School, MS 35, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This year's Recital and Awards Celebration will recognize the
accomplishments of Quest Youth Organization's young musicians and vocal-
ists; the event will feature performances by Quest "Q City Soundz" band
and soloists, as well as the presentation of awards; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these
young students now stand honorably, with just pride in their achieve-
ments and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and
appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers
and parents; and
WHEREAS, The arts, in whatever form depicted, are central to human
expression; they are truly a universal language and their contribution
to the development of friendship and understanding among all peoples
cannot be underestimated; and
WHEREAS, The study of the performing arts is most worthy of being
encouraged and promoted, as it provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their skills to an audience, thereby giving them self-esteem to
last a lifetime; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Quest Youth Organization upon the occasion of its 9th Annual
Recital and Awards Celebration on June 13, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Quest Youth Organization.
