LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Sheriff Robert Maciol upon the
occasion of being named Grand Marshal of the 2015 Independence Day
Parade in Utica, New York

WHEREAS, Our proud tradition of celebrating the birth of our Nation on
July 4, 1776, is not only a tribute to our rich history, but a
reflection of our living commitment to the exercise of freedom, a legacy
which rings through the ages and touches every citizen throughout the
land of liberty; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Sheriff Robert Maciol upon the occasion of being named Grand
Marshal of the 2015 Independence Day Parade in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sheriff Robert Maciol was officially selected for this pres-
tigious honor at a ceremony held at the Genesis Group's 4th Annual Taste
of the Mohawk Valley celebrated on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the F.X.
Matt Brewing Company in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, A true leader and partner for the City of Utica, Sheriff
Robert Maciol is a respected law enforcement officer with the Oneida
County Sheriff's Department and a well-known member of the community;
and
WHEREAS, A devoted public servant, Sheriff Robert Maciol has been
called upon to contribute his time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sheriff Robert Maciol has stood
constant in dignity, courage, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Sheriff Robert Maciol has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, The treasured values of family unity and wholesome enter-
tainment for all ages that are reflected in the events scheduled to
celebrate such an auspicious occasion help to foster community spirit
and cooperation and preserve the beliefs, ideals and values for which
our forefathers declared the independence of these United States; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sheriff Robert Maciol upon the occasion of being named
Grand Marshal of the 2015 Independence Day Parade in Utica, New York;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sheriff Robert Maciol.
