LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Father Lawrence Marullo upon the occa-
sion of celebrating the 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the
Priesthood on May 5, 2015

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life in
this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the faithful
concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their energies
and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish them-
selves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preemi-
nence of service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Father Lawrence Marullo upon the occasion of celebrating the 40th Anni-
versary of his Ordination to the Priesthood with a Mass held on Tuesday,
May 5, 2015, in Constableville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 11, 1949, in Auburn, New York, to Arnold and
Hulda Marullo, Lawrence Marullo was raised alongside his brother,
Robert, and started thinking about the priesthood at a very young age;
he also had an uncle who had some influence on his decision; and
WHEREAS, Lawrence Marullo began studying to become a priest for the
Diocese of Rochester in Becket Hall while attending St. John Fisher
College; he graduated with his bachelor's degree and entered St.
Bernard's Seminary in Rochester, New York; and
WHEREAS, After transferring to the Diocese of Ogdensburg in the Spring
of 1973, he was ordained by Bishop Stanislaus J. Brzana on May 3, 1975,
at St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg, New York; and
WHEREAS, Father Lawrence Marullo, or "Father Larry," as he is affec-
tionately known to many, was first appointed Parochial Vicar at St.
Mary's Church in Massena, New York, where he served from 1975 to 1978;
and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious 40 years of ministry in New York
State, Father Lawrence Marullo also served the communities of St.
Joseph's Church in Malone; St. Patrick's Church in Watertown; Sacred
Heart Church in Chazy; Star Lake and Newton Falls; Holy Name and St.
Matthew Churches in Ausable Forks; and St. Bartholomew's and St.
Anthony's Churches in Old Forge; and
WHEREAS, In 2002, this esteemed religious leader transferred to St.
Mary's Church and St. Mary's Nativity in Constableville and West Leyden;
and
WHEREAS, Father Lawrence Marullo had two more churches, St. Martin's
in Port Leyden and St John's in Lyons Falls, added to his caretaking in
2011; he now has four churches along with five cemeteries under his
supervision; and
WHEREAS, As the dedicated and loving Pastor of four parishes, Father
Lawrence Marullo is responsible for the spiritual guidance of his
parishioners and for the welfare of all the priests and religious indi-
viduals under his care; in addition, he participates in activities and
fundraisers, monitors church organizations, and conducts numerous other
important duties; and
WHEREAS, For the past 40 years, Father Lawrence Marullo has rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the Catholic Church,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his congregation, dioc-
ese, and community; and
WHEREAS, Father Lawrence Marullo has brought to his ministry an over-
whelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and

enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and profes-
sional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished man of God has always given enlightenment,
guidance and wisdom to the many entrusted to his care and has adminis-
tered abundantly and unstintingly to the spiritual and corporal needs of
all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Father Lawrence Marullo upon the occasion of celebrating the
40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood to be celebrated on
May 5, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Father Lawrence Marullo.
