LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Officer Louis A. Perfetti upon the occa-
sion of his designation as recipient of the 2015 Chief John Givney Award
by the Troy Police Department

WHEREAS, The quality and sanctity of community life are cherished
values, worthy of safeguarding, and this Legislative Body is moved to
honor those individuals who serve to preserve and protect such values,
lauding particularly their unwavering courage and dedication in the
daily performance of their duties; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Officer Louis
A. Perfetti upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2015 Chief John Givney Award by the Troy Police Department celebrated at
its 30th Annual Awards Breakfast on Monday, May 11, 2015, in Troy, New
York; and
WHEREAS, The annual Chief John Givney Award recognizes an officer for
outstanding police work and is comparable to being named Officer of the
Year; and
WHEREAS, Officer Louis A. Perfetti is being honored for his excep-
tional level of performance and invaluable contributions to the Troy
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed law enforcement officer was nominated for his
exemplary performance on the midnight platoon, as well as his efforts to
support his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Louis A. Perfetti joined the Troy Police Department in 2010,
after serving for one year with the Schenectady Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Currently in his fifth year with the department, Officer
Louis A. Perfetti always sets a positive example, and is known for being
a conscientious, professional police officer, who carries out all
assignments and tasks without complaint; and
WHEREAS, Officer Louis A. Perfetti has played key roles in several
narcotics, domestic violence and traffic enforcement arrests; he has
also implemented a stolen vehicle report, and created a reference guide
to the department's automated ticket writing system; furthermore, he has
assisted in the renovation of the department's fitness facility; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate to recognize and commend such outstanding
law enforcement officers as Officer Louis A. Perfetti for their many
valued contributions to public safety and the overall community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those dedicated
public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the preservation
of order and the protection of others are worthy and due full praise and
administration for their stalwart commitment and noble endeavors; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Officer Louis A. Perfetti upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2015 Chief John Givney Award by the Troy Police Depart-
ment; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Officer Louis A. Perfetti.
