LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring David G. White upon the occasion of
being named the 2015 New York State Boating Educator of the Year by the
New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
David G. White upon the occasion of being named the 2015 New York State
Boating Educator of the Year by the New York State Office of Parks,
Recreation and Historic Preservation; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Safe Boating Program is currently cele-
brating its 55th year of presenting boating safety courses; and
WHEREAS, David G. White was previously recognized by the National
Association of State Boating Law Administrators as its Northern States
Boating Educator of the Year, at a conference held in Wichita, Kansas,
in October of 2015; and
WHEREAS, A coastal recreation and tourism specialist with New York
State Sea Grant, where he has worked for 31 years, David G. White is
noted for building successful partnerships uniting the marine industry,
government agencies, community groups and waterfront stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, Since 1985, David G. White has served the public as a certi-
fied volunteer boating safety instructor and has earned the admiration
and esteem of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David G. White upon the occasion of being named the 2015 New York
State Boating Educator of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David G. White.
