LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating C.J. Marie of North Bellmore, New
York, upon the occasion of being named 2015 Ms. New York Senior America

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals who have inspired and brought pride to our
majestic Empire State with their character and outstanding achievements;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late C.J. Marie of North Bellmore, New York, upon the occasion of being
named 2015 Ms. New York Senior America at the Ms. New York Senior Ameri-
ca contest held at Hofstra University on Sunday, May 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, As a young child, C.J. Marie grew up in Astoria, Queens, New
York, and started dance classes when she was five years old; she contin-
ued her passion with dance through her high school years at Long Island
City High School; and
WHEREAS, Today, she enjoys interpretive dance which has been enhanced
by the instruction of Dance with Me Studio in Glen Head, New York; and
WHEREAS, After attending Queensboro Community College and graduating
from Queens College, C.J. Marie diligently served students, parents,
teachers, staff and community members for 35 years teaching elementary
school; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she was a lead teacher for the kindergarten
curriculum for the Archdiocese of New York in the inner city schools in
the South Bronx; and
WHEREAS, C.J. Marie moved to Long Island, New York in 1992, and has
lived in North Bellmore for the past 23 years where she guides individ-
uals to reach their personal and professional goals as a Certified
Professional Life Coach Counselor; and
WHEREAS, C.J. Marie is also an accomplished writer, entrepreneur and
real estate proprietor; she has authored 14 books and has been issued
five United States patents; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of her efforts of in-depth magnitude, C.J.
Marie has been honored for her many achievements in newspaper and maga-
zine articles and has been named "Woman of the Year" as well as being
included in "Who's Who Among American Business Women" and "Who's Who
Among American Teachers"; and
WHEREAS, Despite her busy professional life, C.J. Marie has been
called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, C.J. Marie is the proud mother of one son, the loving grand-
mother of two grandchildren, and a wife for 25 years; she is poised
eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose and stands honorably with
just pride in her accomplishments and in eager anticipation of future
challenges; and
WHEREAS, With her zest for life, C.J. Marie will no doubt inspire
other senior women to pursue their dreams; this exceptional woman
believes people do not have to stop living life when they reach a
certain age, and that it is important to touch lives and be the positive
change we want to see in our world, while paying it forward in giving
back in appreciation; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate C.J. Marie of North Bellmore, New York, upon the occasion
of being named 2015 Ms. New York Senior America; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to C.J. Marie, North Bellmore, New York.
