LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Mohawk
Valley Association of Realtors on October 16, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 100th Anniversary of the Mohawk Valley Association of Real-
tors, to be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Fort Schuyler
Club, Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors is currently
composed of approximately 350 members; its coverage area, the Mohawk
Valley, is comprised of Oneida and Herkimer counties, as well as parts
of other surrounding New York counties; and
WHEREAS, Organized in 1915, the 12-member Utica Real Estate Board
applied for membership and was granted admission into what is now known
as the National Association of Realtors on March 26th, 1917; and
WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission and its strong desire to
promote and maintain high standards of conduct, the Mohawk Valley Asso-
ciation of Realtors continues to provide a unified medium for real
estate owners and those engaged in the real estate profession, whereby
their interests may be safeguarded and advanced, and to further the
interest of home and other real property ownership; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors
strictly follow the Realtors Code of Ethics, the second oldest profes-
sional Code in the Nation, to assure ethical treatment of all parties;
and
WHEREAS, Truly dedicated to the community they so ably serve, many of
the outstanding men and women who make up this vital Association active-
ly participate in local charitable and service organizations; and
WHEREAS, For the past 100 years, the Mohawk Valley Association of
Realtors has been the local voice of real estate, protecting property
rights, promoting legislation beneficial to the ownership and rental of
real property and ensuring commerce is conducted in an ethical and
honest way; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, the Mohawk Valley Association
of Realtors has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and
communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors is
in direct correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Mohawk Valley Asso-
ciation of Realtors; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Mohawk Valley Association of
Realtors on October 16, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors.
