LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Carole H. Grove upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Caregiver of the Year
Award by the Mohawk Valley Community of Elder Wellness Council

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies to serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Carole H.
Grove upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2015
Outstanding Caregiver of the Year Award by the Mohawk Valley Community
of Elder Wellness Council to be celebrated at its Fifth Annual Celebrat-
ing Life event on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Hart's Hill Inn in
Whitesboro, New York; and
WHEREAS, Known for her tireless dedication and commitment to helping
others, Carole H. Grove has left an indelible mark on the world through
her volunteer service; and
WHEREAS, In 1978, Carole H. Grove moved to Utica, New York, bringing
with her the foundation of a program known as Your Neighbors, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, For the past three decades, Your Neighbors, Inc. has provided
support to home bound individuals in the Greater Utica area with such
important services as shopping assistance, companion care, medical
rides, supplemental meals and friendly reassurance calls; and
WHEREAS, As a founding member and coordinator of the food program,
Carole H. Grove's willingness to share her vast experience has played a
vital role in helping Your Neighbors, Inc. fulfill its mission of help-
ing individuals remain an integral part of their communities; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman has been called upon to contribute her
time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; currently, she serves as a member
of the Board of Directors for Your Neighbors, Inc., and is President of
the Friends of the Lutheran Homes; she is also the founder of her own
business, Bagel Grove; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to resolving hunger issues through her work at Zion
Lutheran Church, Carole H. Grove is also part of the World Hunger and
Global Mission Teams for the Upstate New York Synod; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband and four children,
all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Carole H. Grove has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Carole H. Grove upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2015 Outstanding Caregiver of the Year Award by the Mohawk Valley
Community of Elder Wellness Council; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Carole H. Grove.
