LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Annmarie Lanesey upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award from
the Capital District Women's Employment and Resource Center
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in the communities across New
York State is reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who would devote themselves to the advancement of the commu-
nity and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Annmarie Lane-
sey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Harriet
Rifkin Leadership Award from the Capital District Women's Employment and
Resource Center which was celebrated at its Awards Luncheon on Tuesday,
October 6, 2015 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Employment and Resource Center (WERC) is a not-
for-profit organization which assists women in improving important self-
attributes in order to successfully rejoin the workforce; since 1988 the
center has provided services to over 6,400 women in the Capital
District; and
WHEREAS, The Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award is presented to an indi-
vidual in recognition of their outstanding leadership, volunteerism,
professionalism and work creating opportunities for women to achieve
personal and financial independence; and
WHEREAS, Annmarie Lanesey earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic
Art Media and Communication and completed a Master of Fine Arts in Inte-
grated Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Annmarie Lanesey co-founded Greane Tree Technology,
a custom software development firm; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious tenure as company President,
Annmarie Lanesey has built a reputation for excellence in software
development projects for publishing powerhouses, social media startups,
academic institutions, national nonprofits and state agencies; she is
also a leading advocate for increasing diversity in STEM professions;
and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous accolades for her outstanding
accomplishments Annmarie Lanesey has been included in the Albany Busi-
ness Review's "40 under Forty," and was named one of the "Women Who Mean
Business"; and
WHEREAS, Annmarie Lanesey has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; she serves on the Board of the Commission
on Economic Opportunity, and is a member of the Capital Region Chamber
of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Annmarie Lanesey has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Annmarie Lanesey upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award from the Capital District Women's
Employment and Resource Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Annmarie Lanesey.
