LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Reverend Debra Jameson upon the occa-
sion of her retirement after 16 years of distinguished service to Focus
Churches of Albany on December 9, 2015

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Reverend Debra Jameson upon the occasion of her retirement after 16
years of distinguished service to Focus Churches of Albany, celebrated
at its Annual Holiday Open House on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the
Albany Pump Station, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since 1982, Reverend Debra Jameson has served as an ordained
Minister in the Reformed Church of America; throughout the years, she
held the position of Parish Pastor in Shokan, Mt. Tremper and Staten
Island, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 1996, Reverend Debra Jameson came to Albany, New York, to
work as both the Development Coordinator and Faith Community Liaison for
the Hunger Action Network of New York State; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Reverend Debra Jameson was able to use her
passion for advocacy and her experience of working with faith based
communities to make a difference in local neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Debra James joined Focus Churches of Albany in 1999,
holding the position of Focus Community Minister; she then served as
Director of Community Ministry, the position from which she retired in
December of 2015; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Reverend Debra Jameson has taken
advantage of the opportunity she has been given by combining charity
with justice; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Debra Jameson will truly be missed by the Focus
staff, Board of Directors and other people in the community who have
been touched by her generosity and passion; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Director of Community Ministry, Reverend
Debra Jameson served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Reverend Debra Jameson was governed by
a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reverend Debra Jameson upon the occasion of her retirement after
16 years of distinguished service to Focus Churches of Albany; and to
wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Debra Jameson.
