LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Stephen Wickes upon the occasion of
being named the 2015 Small Businessperson of the Year by the Floral Park
Chamber of Commerce on October 23, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals who substantially contribute to the
economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Stephen Wickes upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Small Busines-
sperson of the Year by the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce celebrated at
the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce's 31st Annual Small Busines-
sperson of the Year Ceremony on Friday, October 23, 2015, at the Crest
Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1953, the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce
strives to promote a strong local economy, provide opportunities for
relationship building, and deliver programs to help business grow, as
well as enhance commerce through community stewardship; and
WHEREAS, The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce is an organization of
business leaders who work to improve their community and the area's
business climate; and
WHEREAS, The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce strengthens the community
by identifying needs, problems and opportunities; its members then
develop programs to solve problems and satisfy the needs, bringing about
a healthier climate in which businesses and the communities grow and
prosper; and
WHEREAS, An enthusiastic and valuable member of the Floral Park Cham-
ber of Commerce, Stephen Wickes serves on its Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, A true entrepreneur, Stephen Wickes is the co-Owner of two
Floral Park, New York, businesses, The Body King Studio, a one-on-one
personal training studio; and One Sound Label, a Deejay and dance enter-
tainment company; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Stephen Wickes upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Small
Businessperson of the Year by the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce on
October 23, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stephen Wickes.
