LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Susie Boyce upon the occasion of being
named the 2015 Geneseean of the Year by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Susie Boyce has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Susie Boyce upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Geneseean of the
Year by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce to be celebrated at an
Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Batavia Clarion Hotel,
Batavia, New York; and
WHEREAS, Susie Boyce has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the community in which she lives, Susie Boyce
was the 2008 Campaign Chair of the Genesee County United Way, and
currently serves on its Allocations Committee, helping to distribute
significant funds to various agencies within the region; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Susie Boyce spearheaded the United Way Day of
Caring event where over 400 volunteers completed more than 35 projects
throughout Genesee County; today, she continues to serve as the event's
co-Chair; and
WHEREAS, A vital member of the Batavia Rotary Club, Susie Boyce holds
the position of Social Director, chairing the Annual Christmas Party;
she also participates on the Scholarship, Brewfest and Fly in Breakfast
Committees; and
WHEREAS, For her exemplary contributions to her Club and community,
Susie Boyce was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow, the highest
honor given to a member; and
WHEREAS, Since 2008, Susie Boyce has been a member of the Rochester
Regional Healthcare/United Memorial Medical Center Board of Directors;
she also holds the title of President of the Hospital Foundation Board
and has served on the Dessert Dash committee for the Annual Hospital
Auction and the Gala and Gold Tournament committees; and
WHEREAS, In 2004, Susie Boyce was a part of Leadership Genesee, a
program of Cornell Cooperative Extension which provides equal program
and employment opportunities; in 2011, she was named the Leadership
Alumni of the Year; and
WHEREAS, As a participant of this program, she was a leader of the
Wyoming class of 2008, has volunteered at the Jim Kelly Golf Tournament
for the last 12 years, and served on the Eagle Star Housing Board; in
this capacity, she helped raise funds for events for the veteran's
outreach program in both Pembroke and Spencerport, New York; and
WHEREAS, Since 2007, Susie Boyce has been a member of the Batavia
Development Corporation Board of Directors; currently, she holds the
title of Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, Known for her forward thinking attitude, this remarkable
woman goes above and beyond the scope of her duties as an active board
member, attending City Council meetings, and teaching Small Business
Development classes at Genesee Community College; and
WHEREAS, For the last seven years, Susie Boyce has been a member of
the GAPA where she helped with the Walk the Villages initiative; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Susie Boyce has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Susie Boyce has displayed throughout
her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Susie Boyce upon the occasion of being named the 2015 Geneseean
of the Year by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Susie Boyce.
