LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Andrew Boyar upon the occasion of his
retirement after 24 years of distinguished service to the Town of High-
land, New York, on December 18, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Andrew Boyar upon the occasion of his retirement after 24 years of
distinguished service to the Town of Highland, New York, celebrated at a
surprise party held in his honor on Friday, December 18, 2015, at the
Catskill Mountains Resort, Barryville, New York; and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, Andrew "Andy" Boyar held the position
of Superintendent of the Town of Highland, a title he held for two non-
consecutive terms; in addition, he served in several offices including
Town Attorney and Town Justice; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, this remarkable man was a member of the Eldred
Central School District School Board, and held the title of Chairman of
the Sullivan County Board of Supervisors; he was also the Town of High-
land Representative on the Upper Delaware Council; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Andrew Boyar was known as an official
who truly listened to his neighbors; he helped to make Highland a place
where people want to live, work and raise a family; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his public service career, Andrew Boyar served
with loyalty, honor and distinction, and was governed by a keen sense of
duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems in his official
acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Andrew Boyar upon the occasion of his retirement after 24 years
of distinguished service to the Town of Highland, New York; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Boyar.
