LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending outgoing President Randy Shotland upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the Merrick
Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
outgoing President Randy Shotland for distinguished service to the Cham-
ber of Commerce of Merrick, celebrated at its 80th Annual Installation
Dinner on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Chateau Briand, Carle Place,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure as President, Randy Shotland faithfully
served the Merrick Chamber of Commerce by leading it in living up to its
mission, to provide a comprehensive program of networking, fundraisers,
high profile community events, educational programs, and public
relations campaigns, to assist the business community of Merrick; and
WHEREAS, This occasion presents an opportunity for this Legislative
Body to recognize and pay tribute to outgoing President Randy Shotland;
and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which outgoing President Randy Shotland
has displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing President Randy Shotland upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to outgoing President Randy Shotland.
