LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John Balint, MD upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Education Lifetime Achievement Award by
the Capital District Senior Issues Forum
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of
remarkable individuals that should be recognized for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John
Balint, MD upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Business Lifetime Achievement Award by the Capital District Senior
Issues Forum, celebrated at its 17th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednes-
day, October 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Capital District Senior Issues Forum is a voluntary
initiative among various faith communities, organizations, and individ-
uals which provide support for seniors in the Capital District through
education and dialogue; and
WHEREAS, In 1998, the Capital District Senior Issues Forum was started
to focus on senior housing issues; a group of caregivers, faith organ-
izations, government officials, housing facility and service groups
administrators and seniors joined together to generate support for
seniors in the Capital District; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, this vital forum has grown from its
small, grass roots beginnings to a full-fledged organization which
focuses upon the care and success of seniors; and
WHEREAS, Since 1998, the Capital District Senior Issues Forum has held
16 ceremonies and has recognized over 676 seniors over the age of 85 for
their lifetime achievements; and
WHEREAS, In 2015, John Balint, MD was recognized for being an extraor-
dinary senior, and for making a difference in the lives of others, as
well as for giving selflessly in the education community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John Balint, MD upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Education Lifetime Achievement Award by the Capital District
Senior Issues Forum; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Balint, MD.
