LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Xinjun Cindy Zhu upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the 2015 Physician of the Year Award
by the Upstate Northeastern New York Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis
Foundation of America on November 7, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the medical field who distinguish
themselves through professional excellence and who have made significant
contributions to the quality of life of citizens in the State of New
York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr.
Xinjun Cindy Zhu upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2015 Physician of the Year Award by the Upstate Northeastern New
York Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, cele-
brated at its Evening to Remember Gala on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at
Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1967, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Ameri-
ca (CCFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to
finding the cures for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis; and
WHEREAS, Both Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are painful
gastrointestinal diseases affecting more than one in 200 children,
teens, and adults in the United States; and
WHEREAS, The dedicated staff members of CCFA are striving to cure
Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and subsequently, improve the
quality of life of children and adults affected by these debilitating
diseases; and
WHEREAS, The Upstate Northeastern New York Chapter of CCFA is pleased
to present the 2015 Physician of the Year Award to Dr. Xinjun Cindy Zhu
for her exceptional dedication to her patients and promotion of CCFA's
vital mission; and
WHEREAS, As a leader in her profession, Dr. Xinjun Cindy Zhu has prov-
en herself to be a great asset to medicine and to the health and welfare
of the citizens of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Xinjun Cindy Zhu upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2015 Physician of the Year Award by the Upstate North-
eastern New York Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Ameri-
ca on November 7, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Xinjun Cindy Zhu.
