LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring The Beltrone Group, LLC, upon the occa-
sion of its designation as recipient of the Swyer Companies Corporate
Leadership Award by The Legal Project of the Capital District Women's
Bar Association on October 14, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of organiza-
tions, businesses, and individuals who devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
The Beltrone Group, LLC, upon the occasion of its designation as recipi-
ent of the Swyer Companies Corporate Leadership Award by The Legal
Project of the Capital District Women's Bar Association; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion was celebrated at its Second Annual
Pro Bono Awards Luncheon, commemorating the 20th Anniversary of The
Legal Project, held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at The Century House
in Latham, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Swyer Companies Corporate Leadership Award recognizes
those firms, businesses or foundations which have provided support or
services that assist in helping people in need and furthering The Legal
Project's mission of enhancing access to justice; the Award is named in
honor of the Swyer Companies, which have provided significant support
and friendship to The Legal Project for many years; and
WHEREAS, In 1916, Salvatore R. Beltrone began a private masonry-con-
crete construction business; after 15 years of great success and a
continuing increase in business, Beltrone Construction Company, Inc. was
formed and the new Company started concentrating on general construction
work and construction management; and
WHEREAS, The Beltrone Construction Company, Inc. grew into an innova-
tive, quality conscious and highly respected leader in the construction
industry; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Company is responsible for managing all properties
owned whole or in part by the Beltrone family as well as outside enti-
ties; its staff of nearly 30 employees handles everything from develop-
ment, leasing of space, construction for new tenants, and the daily
maintenance, with an emphasis on personal service; and
WHEREAS, In June, 2015, The Beltrone Group, LLC, became The Legal
Project's new landlord and has helped make a smooth transition to a
beautiful new space that is perfectly suited to The Legal Project's
work, now and in the future; and
WHEREAS, The Beltrone Group, LLC, has demonstrated that it understands
the importance of The Legal Project's work and has been very responsive
to its needs; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize The Beltrone Group, LLC, for its unwavering commitment and
support to The Legal Project which provides an uncompromising standard
of excellence in the delivery of Pro Bono service to the communities and
citizens it so ably serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble accomplishments are brought to our attention, they
should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the great
State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Beltrone Group, LLC, upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Swyer Companies Corporate Leadership Award by The Legal
Project of the Capital District Women's Bar Association; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Beltrone Group, LLC.
