LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Tyrone Reid upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 Frederick C. Baumback Award by the
Boys & Girls Club of Troy

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Tyrone Reid has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Tyrone Reid
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2015 Frederick
C. Baumback Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Troy which was celebrated
at its First Annual Great Futures Gala held on Thursday, September 24,
2015; and
WHEREAS, Frederick C. Baumback was a proud son of Troy and World War
II veteran, who contributed greatly as member of the Troy Boys & Girls
Club for over 90 years; and
WHEREAS, Tyrone Reid has received this auspicious award named in
Frederick C. Baumback's honor for his faithful, devoted and valuable
service to the Troy Boys & Girls Club; and
WHEREAS, A native of the Capital District, Tyrone Reid spent much of
his time growing up playing basketball with his friends at the Boys Club
in Troy; he credits the club with being able to overcome obstacles and
barriers in his life, and leading him to the opportunities which have
helped him attain his current level of success; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man received his associate's degree from Hudson
Valley Community College in 1981, his bachelor's degree from Siena
College in 1989, and his Masters of Business Administration from the
University at Albany in 2000; and
WHEREAS, Today, Tyrone Reid is the Director of Finance and Adminis-
tration at the University at Albany School of Business; and
WHEREAS, A vital part of his community, Tyrone Reid has continued his
involvement with the Troy Boys & Girls Club by serving on the Board of
Directors for the past 15 years, coaching youth basketball, and support-
ing the programs that helped shape his life while growing up; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Tyrone Reid has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Tyrone Reid has displayed throughout
his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tyrone Reid upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2015 Frederick C. Baumback Award by the Boys & Girls Club of Troy;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tyrone Reid.
