LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Marcia C. Brogan upon the occasion of
being named a Woman in Leadership by the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of New
York State Women, Inc.
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Marcia Brogan has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Marcia C.
Brogan upon the occasion of being named a Woman in Leadership by the
Buffalo Niagara Chapter of New York State Women, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, The Woman in Leadership program recognizes Western New York
women who exhibit leadership, enterprise and excellence in their busi-
ness or profession while giving back to the community; and
WHEREAS, The Marcia C. Brogan Agency, LLC is a certified women owned
enterprise which educates, empowers and consults with businesses and
personal clients in regard to all lines of personal and commercial
insurance, life and health; and
WHEREAS, Marcia C. Brogan began her illustrious career as an Allstate
agent at a local Sears store in 1981; just three years later, after
becoming affiliated with Niagara National Insurance, she left to start
her own agency; and
WHEREAS, During her early years in business, Marcia C. Brogan, a
native of Kenmore, New York, had to balance raising her family while
growing her business; during this time, she decided to focus on child
care centers as she understood both sides as a parent and as a business
owner; and
WHEREAS, Marcia C. Brogan has been instrumental in educating and
empowering child care providers to think of themselves as business
owners; she now insures more than 80 child care sites, and serves on the
State Council for Early Care and Learning; and
WHEREAS, With a true passion for children and her local community,
Marcia C. Brogan currently serves as president of Kenmore Merchants
Association, president-elect of the Buffalo Niagara chapter of the
National Association of Women Business Owners, and board member of the
Kenmore Planning Board and the Blue Rose Society; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed woman is past board member and
vice president of Child Care Resource Network, past president of Inde-
pendent Insurance Agents of Western New York and past president of West-
ern New York Insurance Association; and
WHEREAS, Marcia C. Brogan is the proud recipient of the 2013 Excel-
lence In Leadership Award from the State Early Care and Learning Coun-
cil, the first time since the inception of the award that an honoree has
come from upstate New York; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Marcia C. Brogan has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Marcia C. Brogan upon the occasion of being named a Woman in
Leadership by the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of New York State Women, Inc.;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marcia C. Brogan.
