LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Orleans/Niagara BOCES upon the
occasion of celebrating its 60th Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those organizations which are committed to enhancing the
quality of education in the State of New York, and which enable our
schools to offer excellent educational programs in the most efficient
manner; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Orleans/Niagara BOCES upon the occasion of celebrating its 60th
Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, BOCES, in partnership with local school districts and their
communities, the Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education, is
a leader in providing quality, cost-effective, educationally focused
programs and services that support learners in achieving high standards
and personal educational goals; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1956, Orleans/Niagara BOCES has made a lasting
impact on the community by providing shared services in education,
support and leadership in the areas of special education, career and
technical education, alternative education programs and workforce devel-
opment for a potential population of 43,000 in Orleans and Niagara Coun-
ties; and
WHEREAS, The Orleans/Niagara BOCES has been instrumental in helping
its clients pursue career-oriented educational paths by connecting what
is taught to real world needs and providing specialized academic and
behavioral programs to its students with special needs; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 60 year history, the Orleans/Niagara
BOCES has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communi-
ties which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Orleans/Niagara BOCES is in direct corre-
lation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusi-
asm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on
behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Orleans/Niagara
BOCES; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Orleans/Niagara BOCES upon the occasion of celebrating its
60th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Orleans/Niagara BOCES.
