LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the members of the Bonafiglia Family
upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of the 2015 Humani-
tarian of the Year Award by Happiness House
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors and
community service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues,
friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
members of the Bonafiglia Family upon the occasion of their designation
as recipients of the 2015 Humanitarian of the Year Award by Happiness
House at its 12th Annual Gala Dinner and Auction Event, to be held on
Friday, February 6, 2015, at Belhurst Castle, Geneva, New York; and
WHEREAS, Given annually, this auspicious award is presented to indi-
viduals who have dedicated their time and served as advocates on behalf
of people with developmental disabilities; the Bonafigilia Family's
outstanding contributions and accomplishments are consistent with the
mission and vision of Happiness House; and
WHEREAS, The Bonafiglia Family includes Angelo and Agnes Bonafiglia,
who have been married for 65 years; their children, Andrea, Bruce, and
Curt; and three grandchildren, Daniele, Erin and Ben, all of whom gladly
give of themselves to support people with developmental disabilities;
and
WHEREAS, In 1950, Angelo Bonafiglia founded BonaDent; today, the busi-
ness has become a family affair with Bruce at the helm serving as Presi-
dent of two locations in Florida and South Carolina, Daniele as Vice-
President, and Erin Bonafiglia the Technical Trainer; Andrea retired
from the position of President at the Florida location, and Curt went on
to earn his PhD in Psychology; and
WHEREAS, The Bonafiglia Family is deeply involved in their community;
they serve on the Happiness House Board and the Seneca County Children's
Committee, and have been major contributors to the Special Olympics, as
well as sponsor the Ben Bonafiglia Golf Tournament; and
WHEREAS, The Bonafigilia Family donates Christmas gifts to the fami-
lies of children at Mynderse Academy, and delivers miniature Christmas
trees to the residents of the Seneca Falls Nursing Home; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, BonaDent proudly employees ARC residents, and
Daniele coaches both Rec Center girls soccer and basketball teams; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their professional and commu-
nity service, a period of constructive involvement, the Bonafigilia
Family has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and has
earned the respect and admiration of their family, friends, and communi-
ty at large; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which the Bonafigilia Family has displayed
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the members of the Bonafiglia Family upon the occasion of their
designation as recipients of the 2015 Humanitarian of the Year Award by
Happiness House; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Bonafigilia Family.
