LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Stephanie and Rami Abada upon the occa-
sion of their designation for special recognition by the Schechter
School of Long Island on March 31, 2016

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie and Rami Abada have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Stephanie and
Rami Abada upon the occasion of their designation for special recogni-
tion by the Schechter School of Long Island to be celebrated at its 2016
Gala held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Old Westbury Hebrew
Congregation in Old Westbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie and Rami Abada have been an integral part of the
Schechter School of Long Island for the past 19 years, and have distin-
guished themselves in service to both the school and the overall commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, This committed couple are the proud parents of two Schechter
graduates, Danielle (2010) and David (2013), as well as one current
student, Dean (2016); and
WHEREAS, Stephanie Abada has served as a Parent Ambassador for admis-
sions and volunteers for the Gala Committee, and is also actively
involved with the Lymphoma Research Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Rami Abada has served as a coach in the Sunday Slammers
basketball league for seven years, and has supported both the Jewish
National Fund and Israel Bonds; he was also instrumental in planning his
synagogue's two trips to Israel; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie and Rami Abada are both active members of Woodbury
Jewish Center (WJC); Stephanie sat on the board at WJC for six years,
and Rami currently serves as a board member; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Stephanie and Rami Abada have stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Stephanie and Rami Abada have displayed
throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Stephanie and Rami Abada upon the occasion of their designation
for special recognition by the Schechter School of Long Island; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Stephanie and Rami Abada.
