LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Amy Hepworth upon the occasion of being
named Farmer of the Year by the Cornell Alliance for Science

WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is part of the foundation upon which
our distinct American heritage is built; and
WHEREAS, New York State and the entire United States is dependent on
our agricultural industry for a variety of food products; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of our farmers as they continue their hard work of cultivating
the land, facing the many challenges of nature such as flood, drought
and heat, in order to grow our food; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Amy
Hepworth upon the occasion of being named Farmer of the Year by the
Cornell Alliance for Science; and
WHEREAS, Amy Hepworth, of Marlborough, New York, is being recognized
for her tireless efforts to enhance food security and improve environ-
mental sustainability both locally and globally; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality, this
esteemed farmer has worked tirelessly to overcome obstacles and chal-
lenges, while constantly learning new techniques and methods to achieve
the best results in her field; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous accolades for her outstanding abil-
ities and gracious support of her fellow farmers, Amy Hepworth has also
been presented with the Pride of Ulster County Award; and
WHEREAS, During the entire period of her agricultural career, a period
of constructive involvement, Amy Hepworth has stood constant in dignity,
good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Through her diligence and expertise in farming, Amy Hepworth
has brought pride and recognition to herself, her local community, and
to our great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when excep-
tional farmers of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amy Hepworth upon the occasion of being named Farmer of the Year
by the Cornell Alliance for Science; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Amy Hepworth.
