LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kathy Prizzia upon the occasion of her
designation as a 2016 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame
Inductee as recipient of the Dean's Award of Excellence

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kathy Prizzia upon the occasion of her designation as a 2016 SUNY New
Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as recipient of the
Dean's Award of Excellence to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13,
2016, at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie, New York; and
WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame was estab-
lished in 2001 to recognize and acknowledge the achievements of those
who have made significant contributions to their respective business
professions, while also having a significant positive impact on the
educational activities of the School; and
WHEREAS, A business leader of singular distinction, Kathy Prizzia has
continually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence
and diligent leadership in her unwavering service to both her community
and profession and consequently, has been selected for this most presti-
gious honor; and
WHEREAS, A New Paltz area resident for over 20 years, Kathy Prizzia
has ably served as the Executive Director of the New Paltz Regional
Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the New Paltz community, Kathy Prizzia
has been called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors; she serves as Chairman of the Taste of
New Paltz, the New Paltz Regatta Planning Committee, the SUNY New Paltz
Business Advisory Council and the Ulster County Tourism Advisory Board;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Kathy Prizzia has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Kathy Prizzia has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kathy Prizzia upon the occasion of her designation as a 2016 SUNY
New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame Inductee as recipient of the
Dean's Award of Excellence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kathy Prizzia.
