LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Domenick A. Cama upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by St. Francis College
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Domenick A.
Cama upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by St.
Francis College to be celebrated at its 55th Annual Charter Awards
Dinner held on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016, at The Lighthouse at Chelsea
Piers, New York, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Charter Award Dinner was established in 1962 by the St.
Francis Board of Trustees to commemorate New York State granting the
College a charter and the right to confer diplomas, honors and degrees;
over the years, it has been the school's premier event to support schol-
arships programs and the furthering of St. Francis's educational
mission; and
WHEREAS, A native of Brooklyn, New York, Domenick A. Cama is a gradu-
ate of Pace University, and a St. Francis College Alumni Parent;
currently, he serves as both Senior Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer at Investors Bank; and
WHEREAS, On January 1, 2008, Domenick A. Cama was appointed Chief
Operating Officer (COO) of Investors Bank, effectively becoming the
Bank's primary operating officer; three years later, he became a member
of its Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, In his role as Chief Operating Officer, this esteemed busi-
ness leader works closely with other members of the executive management
team to manage the daily operations and implement the strategic direc-
tion for the company; and
WHEREAS, Prior to 2008, Domenick A. Cama served as his company's Chief
Financial Officer where he expertly oversaw the bank's successful
conversion from private ownership to a publicly traded stock company;
and
WHEREAS, Under Domenick A. Cama's illustrious guidance, Investors Bank
has been recognized as one of the top 25 publicly traded, small-cap
banks in the United States on Sandler O'Neill's "Bank & Thrift Sm-All
Stars" report for three consecutive years; it has also been included on
Fortune's "Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies" and was named on Forbes'
"Best Banks in America" list for three straight years; and
WHEREAS, Domenick A. Cama has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; he has served on several nonprofit organ-
ization boards including the Madison YMCA, the Raritan Bay Medical
Center Foundation and the Center for Italian and Italian American
Culture (CIIAC); and
WHEREAS, In addition, Domenick A. Cama has served as the Essex County
Heart Walk Survivor Ambassador for the American Heart Association, and
has acted as the organization's media spokesperson and a key speaker at
many of their New Jersey events; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and honors for his outstand-
ing service, Domenick A. Cama has been recognized by the Raritan Bay
Medical Center Foundation as Executive of the Year, and was named Man of
the Year by both the Federation of Italian American Organizations and
the CIIAC; he also received the 2014 Sheuy Horowitz Humanitarian Award
from HomeSharing; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Domenick A. Cama has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Wendy, and their
three children, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Domenick A. Cama upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by St. Francis College; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Domenick A. Cama.
