LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Richard Eurich upon the occasion of
his induction into the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame
on January 23, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding stock car drivers, who have distinguished themselves through
their exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the
highest level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Richard
Eurich upon the occasion of his induction into the New York State Stock
Car Association Hall of Fame which was celebrated at a ceremony held on
Saturday, January 23, 2016, in Saratoga Springs, New York, followed by a
banquet held at the Polish Community Center in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A native of Warwick, New York, Richard Eurich has been
involved in stock car racing for many decades; he is currently ranked
third in the all-time standings of big block modified winners at the
Middletown oval, where he has claimed 49 wins and 27 winning seasons;
and
WHEREAS, Inspired by his father's collection of race cars, Richard
Eurich began competing in auto-racing in 1967, and became the Nazareth
Modified Champion in 1971; and
WHEREAS, Today, this respected figure in the sport of stock car racing
is the owner of Rich's Auto Body, and continues to race every Saturday
night at the Orange County Fair Speedway; he is the only driver in his
home track's history to win at least one feature race in six different
decades; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Diane, their two
children Kelly and Kyle, and three grandchildren, all of whom feel priv-
ileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor Richard
Eurich for his extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a trib-
ute to his skill, dedication and commitment; his character and achieve-
ments stand as a sterling example and inspiration to all who would
aspire to success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Richard Eurich upon the occasion of his induction into the New
York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame on January 23, 2016; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Richard Eurich.
