LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Myra Robinson-Moses upon the occasion
of being named the February 2016 Citizen of the Month by the Erie County
Legislature
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Myra Robin-
son-Moses upon the occasion of being named the February 2016 Citizen of
the Month by the Erie County Legislature; this momentous occasion was
celebrated on Thursday, February 18, 2016, in Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Erie County Legislature's Citizen of the Month Award was
created to recognize outstanding members of the community; among this
distinguished group is Myra Robinson-Moses; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Myra Robinson-Moses
spent her illustrious career, from which she is now retired, as a claims
representative and billing specialist with the Buffalo Medical Group;
and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Myra Robinson-Moses is a member
of the Evangelistic Temple Community Church, and serves as President of
the Roebling Avenue Block Club; she is also a board member of Buff City
Hoops, South Masten Block Club Coalition and Erie/WNY Block Club Coali-
tion; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she is Secretary of the New York Statewide
Senior Action Council, a member of the Erie County Charter Revision
Commission, and serves on the Contract Compliance Review Committee; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to ending violence
within her community, Myra Robinson-Moses is a member of We Are Women
Warriors, Women Against Violence Everywhere, New York Against Gun
Violence, Citizen Action of Western New York, Stop the Violence Coali-
tion, National Action Network and the Buffalo Peace Makers; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Darryl, and their
four sons, as well as six grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Myra Robinson-Moses has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Myra Robinson-Moses upon the occasion of being named the Febru-
ary 2016 Citizen of the Month by the Erie County Legislature; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Myra Robinson-Moses.
