LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Most
Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the
State of New York on April 16, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those fraternal organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 90th Anniversary of the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge
Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York to be cele-
brated on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Riccardo's By The Bridge in
Queens, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge Ancient Free and
Accepted Masons (A.F. & A.M.,) State of New York was chartered on Octo-
ber 24, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, An affiliate of the General Grand Masonic Congress of the
United States and Canada, Inc., the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge's
first Grand Master was the late III. George A. Corprew; and
WHEREAS, On November 4, 1944, the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge organ-
ized and adopted The Star of Bethlehem Grand Chapter, OES; its members
also marked the grand opening and dedicatory services of their newly
acquired Temple with a weeklong series of festivities attended by Mason-
ic and civic leaders of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, At its official Cornerstone laying on October 7, 1945, this
esteemed fraternal society commemorated the organization of the Most
Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge Charitable Organization, Inc., and Grand
Master III John C. Marshall, Grand Master of the Most Worshipful King
William Grand Lodge of the State of NJ personally officiated; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge Ancient
Free and Accepted Masons and its dynamic leaders have molded together
its members so strongly that the adversities of time have been unable to
deter them from their original goals; and
WHEREAS, Today, the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge remains stead-
fast in its commitment maintaining the mandates of its order and helping
the Brethren continue in the most delicate nature of their labors for
many years to come; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its Brethren, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of this institution and the community it serves;
and
WHEREAS, Organizations of singular distinction such as the Most
Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge provide a model for enhancing the quality
of life in the community and, as such, merit the grateful praise of the
community of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when insti-
tutions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations and
most joyously commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Most Worshipful
Enoch Grand Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New
York on April 16, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge Ancient Free and
Accepted Masons of the State of New York.
