LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Vanessa Lescano upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
honoring the 2015 Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Vanessa Lescano has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Vanessa
Lescano upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Professional Women and
Women in Business; and
WHEREAS, A 2005 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, Vanessa Lescano
earned her degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Delhi
in 2008; currently, she holds several professional certifications
including Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac
Life Support and Pediatric Life Support; and
WHEREAS, At the young age of 15, Vanessa Lescano started working as a
dishwasher at the Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility; after nursing
school, she returned to her roots, holding the positions of RN, RN Unit
Manager and RN Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, In this capacity, Vanessa Lescano was responsible for Quar-
terly Assessments and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI) which eval-
uates the quality and appropriateness of client care; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Vanessa Lescano served as the Staff Developer
and Educator for Employee Health Services in the Risk Management Depart-
ment; and
WHEREAS, Today, Vanessa Lescano holds the title of Director of Market-
ing and Nurse Liaison; in this role, she enjoys helping and interacting
with different people and travelling to hospitals all over the region to
check on patients and serve as their liaison while they transition from
a hospital setting into a rehabilitation setting; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to her profession, Vanessa Lescano is a member of
OATS-Older Adults Transitional Support, New York Connects, and SLAC-Sen-
ior Legislative Action Committee; she also serves as the head facilita-
tor for the Alzheimer's Support Group; and
WHEREAS, An animal lover, Vanessa Lescano enjoys spending time with
her dogs, and loves to toil in her garden, transforming it into a trop-
ical paradise; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her mother, Constance, and her
brother, Anthony, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life
and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Vanessa Lescano has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Vanessa Lescano upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT honoring the 2015 Profes-
sional Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vanessa Lescano.
