LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Joseph Toole upon the occasion of his
designation as EMT of the Year by the American Legion Post No. 304

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who give
outstanding service to the people of the Empire State and whose extraor-
dinary achievements save the lives of their fellow citizens should be
recognized because their efforts so profoundly strengthen our shared
commitment to family and community life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Joseph Toole upon the occasion of his designation as EMT of the Year by
the American Legion Post No. 304; this momentous occasion was celebrated
at its Annual Awards Night on Wednesday, March 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, A true leader, Joseph Toole is defined by his caring and
giving nature; he serves as President of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire
Department Ambulance Unit and is currently attending medical school; and
WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the
survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or
injury; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, Joseph Toole has acted with bravery and
steady precision in dealing with the risk and drama of emergency situ-
ations; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Joseph Toole has demon-
strated his character and his compassion for the welfare of others; he
is a tremendous asset to his EMT Unit and a distinguished citizen of the
State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express sufficient gratitude to
those devoted individuals who recognize that the preservation of life is
a sacred responsibility and who make that responsibility their own by
serving as Emergency Medical Technicians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Joseph Toole upon the occasion of his designation as EMT of the
Year by the American Legion Post No. 304; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph Toole.
