LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ed Mitzen upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the American Red Cross of North-
eastern New York

WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons and busi-
nesses that provide exemplary service, whether through participation in
voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in their profes-
sion or other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good citizen-
ship; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ed Mitzen upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the American
Red Cross of Northeastern New York to be celebrated at its 2016 Fire and
Ice Gala; and
WHEREAS, Ed Mitzen is being honored for his connection, commitment and
dedicated service to his community; and
WHEREAS, Ed Mitzen has been successful in building four thriving
companies; his current Company, Fingerpaint, is a marketing firm with
offices in Saratoga Springs, New York, Villanova, Pennsylvania and
Scottsdale, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Prior to starting Fingerpaint, Ed Mitzen founded Palio, a
former Saratoga-based advertising agency; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Ed Mitzen gives not only of his time
and energies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership;
each and every one of his companies prides itself on being extremely
philanthropic; and
WHEREAS, He has served on numerous Boards, including The Hyde
Collection, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Double H Ranch, Sarato-
ga Care Foundation, The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, Sunnyview
Rehabilitation Hospital, and the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Lisa, and their three
children, Emily, Nick and Grace, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Ed Mitzen has displayed throughout
his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ed Mitzen upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York to be cele-
brated at its 2016 Fire and Ice Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ed Mitzen.
