LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Rajan Subbiah upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
2016 Men at Work Edition
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rajan Subbiah has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Rajan
Subbiah upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, A native of Ambas, Tamil Nadu, South India, Dr. Rajan Subbiah
graduated from Vikaasa Higher Secondary School, Madurai, India, and
received his degree from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India; and
WHEREAS, After completing medical school in 1998, Dr. Rajan Subbiah
accumulated 18 years of clinical experience as a Fellow in Pulmonary and
Critical Care Medicine at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rajan Subbiah then went to work at Crystal Run Healthcare
Pulmonary Office at Rock Hill, where he treats patients with all forms
of pulmonary problems including asthma, COPD, lung cancer, chronic
cough, and acute respiratory illness; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Dr. Rajan Subbiah is employed at Catskill
Regional Medical Center, Harris, New York, where he takes care of crit-
ically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the community in which he works and lives, Dr.
Rajan Subbiah has participated in various fundraising events for local
causes; he also teaches respiratory students from the SUNY Sullivan as
well as medical students from Touro Medical College, Middletown, New
York; and
WHEREAS, When he is not working, Dr. Rajan Subbiah enjoys spending
time with his family, friends, and his pet, Sparks; he loves to ride his
motorcycle, read a good book, listen to music, and watch movies; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 15 years, Tapti
Panda, and his daughter, Sasrika, both of whom feel privileged to be a
part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Dr. Rajan Subbiah has
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Rajan Subbiah upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Rajan Subbiah.
