LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jim Klein upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016
Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jim Klein has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jim Klein upon
the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, Jim Klein is the owner of Klein and Sons Excavation; he
opened the business in 1981 after purchasing his first dump truck; prior
to this, he worked at Bose Dairy Farm when he was 16 years old; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Clarkstown High School in Rockland
County, he joined the United States Navy and served his country for four
years; and
WHEREAS, After his military service, Jim Klein returned home and
worked on the farm again for four to five years before starting his
business; he enjoys helping people and felt good to be able to help the
victims after the 2006 flood in Youngsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Truly committed to the well-being of his community, Jim Klein
is a member of the Town of Callicoon Veterans Memorial Committee; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Kim, and their three
children, Kevin and Christopher who are both part of the family busi-
ness, and Kara, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Jim Klein has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberation to
honor Jim Klein upon the occasion of his designation for special recog-
nition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jim Klein.
