LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John Wilcox upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016
Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, John Wilcox has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John Wilcox
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, An esteemed resident of Roscoe, New York, John Wilcox gradu-
ated from State University of New York College of Agriculture and Tech-
nology at Cobleskill, New York, and Cornell University in Ithaca, New
York; and
WHEREAS, For nearly 28 years, John Wilcox has worked at Cornell Coop-
erative Extension of Sullivan County (CCESC) in Liberty, New York, hold-
ing supervisory positions in Maintenance and Printing as well as Build-
ing Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Currently, John Wilcox serves as Facility Manager; in this
capacity, he performs numerous tasks such as shoveling snow, sanding and
salting in the winter, and lawn mowing as well as taking care of outside
plants in the summer; he is also involved with Capital Project Plans for
CCESC to replace the HVAC System and other upgrades to the building; and
WHEREAS, Truly committed to the well-being of his community, John
Wilcox and his wife operate a small greenhouse business during the
summer selling bedding plants; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 30 years, and three
daughters, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, John Wilcox has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John Wilcox upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT 2016 Men at Work Edition;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Wilcox.
