LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Bernice Bornt Ledeboer upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition by the Troy Savings Bank
Music Hall on April 7, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay just
tribute to those whose creative talents and commitment to the arts
contribute to the enrichment of their community and the world; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bernice Bornt Ledeboer upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, to be celebrated at its
36th Annual Gala on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Franklin Plaza, Troy,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Bernice Bornt Ledeboer is being recognized for being an
essential part of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall for more than 30
years; and
WHEREAS, Vital to the success of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall
Corporation since its inception in 1979, Bernice Bornt Ledeboer has been
an avid supporter and friend of the Hall throughout the years; elected
to the board in 1986, she went on to become president for two years in
1988; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Bernice Bornt Ledeboer has been instrumental in
the development of the Music at Noon programming, and continues to be an
active committee member; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering dedication to the arts commu-
nity of Troy, Bernice Bornt Ledeboer has taught classes on silk screen
printing at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, and made publicity
posters for local non-profit art groups; and
WHEREAS, Bernice Bornt Ledeboer has also served on the Troy Chromatic
Concerts' Board as President for five years, and currently serves as an
honorary director for Troy Chromatic Concerts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bernice Bornt Ledeboer upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on April 7,
2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bernice Bornt Ledeboer.
