LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Medical Society of the County of
Kings, Inc. and the Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn upon the occasion of
hosting its 5th Annual Doctors' Recognition Day
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc. and the Academy of
Medicine of Brooklyn upon the occasion of hosting its 5th Annual
Doctors' Recognition Day; in addition, this year the Richmond County
Medical Society will be joining them to honor Brooklyn and Staten
Island's best doctors; and
WHEREAS, This most auspicious event will be held on Thursday, March
31, 2016, at Gargiulo's Restaurant of Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Today, the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc.
continues its original mandate to examine the credentials and license of
its members, and to encourage physicians to belong to an organization
that advocates for access to the highest standards of health care, while
continuing to plead for its member physicians; and
WHEREAS, The Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn is committed to providing
opportunities for improvement of education for the members of the
medical profession in the County of Kings; it also maintains a medical
library or an equivalent international system alone or in conjunction
with other educational institutions; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Academy of Medicine of Brooklyn disseminates
knowledge of scientific medicine to physicians, medical students, allied
health professionals and the public; they also strive to serve the
public's best interests; and
WHEREAS, The Richmond County Medical Society has been serving the
community of Staten Island for the past 200 years; included as members
are physicians of major hospitals, medical centers, medical groups, and
private practices on Staten Island; and
WHEREAS, The doctors being honored have continually demonstrated
extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent leadership
in their unwavering service to their community and medical profession;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc. and the Academy
of Medicine of Brooklyn upon the occasion of hosting its 5th Annual
Doctors' Recognition Day; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Medical Society of the County of Kings, Inc., the Academy
of Medicine of Brooklyn, and the Richmond County Medical Society.
