LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating John Wilhelm upon the occasion of
being named Varsity845 Football Coach of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those indi-
viduals of outstanding character within the State of New York who are
dedicated to developing character and sportsmanship in our young people;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late John Wilhelm upon the occasion of being named Varsity845 Football
Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, The Head Coach for the Liberty High School Varsity Football
Team, John Wilhelm, led the Indians to the Section 9 Class C finals in
both 2009 and 2012; in his seven years of coaching, he endured only one
losing season; and
WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the exceptional and dedicated efforts of Head Coach John
Wilhelm, a skilled and inspirational tutor, respected for his steadfast
ability to develop potential into excellence; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Head Coach John Wilhelm, the
Liberty High School Varsity Football team's overall record is outstand-
ing, and the team members were loyally and enthusiastically supported by
family, fans, friends and the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach John Wilhelm is committed to teaching his players
the values of brotherhood, of athletic ability, of good sportsmanship,
of honor and of scholarship, demonstrating that these team players are
second to none; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach John Wilhelm has done a superb job in guiding,
molding and inspiring the team members toward their goals; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Head Coach John Wilhelm and his outstanding athletes
have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; and
WHEREAS, John Wilhelm's positive demeanor, selfless commitment, and
caring concern have contributed to his enduring success as a coach and
mentor, earning him the just respect and admiration of his community,
his peers, and the athletes he has so ably coached; and
WHEREAS, With his unremitting commitment to the Liberty High School
Varsity Football Team, John Wilhelm is the quintessential selection as
Coach of the Year; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend John Wilhelm upon the occasion of being named Varsity845 Foot-
ball Coach of the Year; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Head Coach John Wilhelm.
