LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Kiwanis Club of Clarence upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Organization of the
Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor those illus-
trious individuals and institutions of the State of New York whose
purposeful endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Kiwanis Club of Clarence upon the occasion of its designation
as recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by the Clarence Cham-
ber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, It is with great admiration that this Legislative Body
applauds the efforts of all the individuals involved in this vital
organization, and to recognize their unwavering devotion to improving
the quality of life for others; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its distinguished history, Kiwanis Club of
Clarence has diligently served the residents of Clarence, New York, and
its surrounding communities; it has made a difference in every life it
touches and has had a positive impact throughout the entire region; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Clarence was formed in 2002; one of the
Club's first projects was to organize an Easter Egg Hunt held at the
Main Street Town Park; in 2014, this successful event attracted more
than 600 participants; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Kiwanis Club of Clarence has partic-
ipated in both Winterfest and the Clarence Day in the Park; the Club
also coordinates with the Clarence Girls Softball League by sponsoring a
Kiwanis Team and annually awards a scholarship to a deserving recipient;
and
WHEREAS, In 2014, the Clarence Club sold Autism Awareness bracelets
and raised funds by hosting a Seafood Extravaganza to benefit Autism
Society Inc.; in addition, the Club donated personal hygiene items and
snacks for the United States troops serving overseas; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Clarence proudly supports Kamp Kiwanis in
Taberg, New York, a camp for children ages 8-14 with special needs; the
Club also makes and distributes sundaes for campers participating in the
Cradle Beach Camping Program which serves the needs of children with
disabilities and those who come from a disadvantaged background; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Kiwanis Club of Clarence upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Organization of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Kiwanis Club of Clarence.
