LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Farmers Mill Inc. upon the occa-
sion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those businesses that are successful in the
agricultural industry in this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Farmers Mill Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th Anni-
versary; and
WHEREAS, Farmers Mill was incorporated on May 8, 1916, in Sherman, New
York, and is one of the longest serving businesses in Chautauqua County;
and
WHEREAS, Farmers Mill Inc. was established to help local farmers
market their milk and procure a variety of animal feeds and farm
supplies; and
WHEREAS, Farmers Mill Inc. was formed by local farmers with only their
personal capital to cover the start-up costs of $20,000; and
WHEREAS, The agricultural industry is the cornerstone of our state's
economy; Farmers Mill Inc. has provided an outstanding service which
helps this vital industry continue to thrive and prosper; and
WHEREAS, The strong work ethic, environmental stewardship and good
business practices demonstrates that Farmers Mill Inc. is a positive
model for other businesses in New York State; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize that special recognition should be given to businesses that have
demonstrated commitments to success in the agricultural industry, a
vital part of our region and this great Empire State; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Farmers Mill Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Farmers Mill Inc.
