LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending United States Army Specialist Nicole
Digregorio upon the occasion of returning home from her tour of duty in
Iraq and Kuwait on July 2, 2016

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York, who
have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this country's
freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace in peace-
time, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize those
who have served in times of active conflict, as well as those who have
served in times of peace; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend United
States Army Specialist Nicole Digregorio upon the occasion of returning
home from her tour of duty in Iraq and Kuwait; this auspicious occasion
will be celebrated at a Welcome Home Breakfast held on Saturday, July 2,
2016, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Massapequa Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Specialist Nicole Digregorio has proudly served her country
as a member of the United States Army's 10th Mountain Division, and is a
veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, The dedication and sacrifices of military personnel like
Specialist Nicole Digregorio ensure our continued role as a Nation which
embodies the ideals of democracy, and as a defender of liberty for
peoples throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, Residents of this great State must never forget the courage
with which the men and women of the armed forces serve their country,
and must recognize that no greater debt is owed than that owed to those
who gave their lives for their beloved Nation and to those who continue
to be missing in action; and
WHEREAS, Having exhibited her patriotism both at home and abroad, this
esteemed soldier has demonstrated her love for her country and merits
forevermore, the highest respect of their State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved with great respect and rever-
ent esteem, and, on behalf of all of the citizens of the Empire State,
to renew its tribute to the men and women of New York State who so cour-
ageously serve their State and Nation in the defense of freedom and
democracy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend United States Army Specialist Nicole Digregorio upon the occa-
sion of returning home from her tour of duty in Iraq and Kuwait; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to United States Army Specialist Nicole Digregorio.
