LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Human Tech-
nologies Corporation on October 30, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and enduring
commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 60th Anniversary of Human Technologies Corporation; this
momentous occasion will be celebrated, in conjunction with National
Disability Employment Awareness Month, with an Open House on Thursday,
October 30, 2014, in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, On July 2, 1954, Human Technologies Corporation, then named
Mohawk Valley Workshop, was incorporated by the Mayor of Utica and a
group of businessmen concerned with providing employment and rehabili-
tation opportunities to Korean War veterans and other individuals with
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, During this time, Human Technologies Corporation was located
in a two-room space on Second Street in Utica, New York, with a total of
six employees; and
WHEREAS, Since its humble beginnings, Human Technologies Corporation,
still headquartered in Utica, has added regional locations in Syracuse,
the Southern Tier and Western New York, providing employment to more
than 600 people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Human Technologies Corporation is made up of six diverse
businesses: Behavioral Health Services, Graphtex Corporate Apparel,
Northern Apparel Industrial Sewing, Pinnacle Jobs for people with disa-
bilities, Property Management Group Maintenance Services, and Supply
Chain Logistics Packaging and Assembly; and
WHEREAS, These companies offer quality solutions for the unique needs
of businesses and organizations worldwide through such services as manu-
facturing military helmet covers, sewing and shipping corporate apparel,
as well as providing building maintenance and groundskeeping services;
and
WHEREAS, Upholding its view that work is inherently dignified and
fulfilling, and that individuals with barriers to employment deserve the
opportunity to work and to achieve their fullest potential, Human Tech-
nologies Corporation stands committed to providing training, work and
supportive services for those with obstacles to employment, and to
providing counseling and clinical services for those seeking to improve
the overall quality of their lives; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, through this employment, the people of Human
Technologies gain confidence and self-worth, become independent, and
create goals they wish to attain; and
WHEREAS, Standing true to its mission, this exemplary business direct-
ly impacts the lives of more than 2,500 people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, With an unwavering commitment to individuals with disabili-
ties, Human Technologies Corporation truly believes that each individual
makes an impact, that work well done makes everything possible and that
the work of their people transforms the community; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges the Human Technologies Corporation's success, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its highest
commendation to the Corporation and its employees, fully confident that,
in its future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Human Technologies Corporation; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Human Technologies Corporation, Utica, New York.
