LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Danielle Clifford upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Danielle Clif-
ford upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2016 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Danielle Clifford has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Danielle Clifford, a student at Minisink Valley High School,
is ranked 19th in her class with a 97.02 GPA; she has also participated
in numerous sports including soccer, basketball, softball and cross
country; and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, this esteemed young
woman has also been a vital part of such organizations as the Varsity
Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Students Taking Action
Together; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Danielle Clifford has also served as Junior
Class President, an intern at West Point and the Orange County Executive
Office, and Captain of the Minisink Valley High School Soccer team; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Clifford has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; she has graciously given of her time as a
math tutor, and volunteer with both the Holy Cross Food Pantry and
Unionville Fire House; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Danielle Clif-
ford has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Clifford may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education at Misericordia University to double major in
both Accounting and Business Management; and
WHEREAS, Danielle Clifford represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Danielle Clifford upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2016 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in all her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Danielle Clifford.
