LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Marie Villari upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Judith S. Kaye Service Award for Superi-
or Work Performance by the New York State Court of Appeals on May 2,
2016

WHEREAS, A great community is only as great as those persons that
provide exemplary service through unique personal achievement in their
profession or other endeavors, or simply through a lifetime of good
citizenship; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marie Villari
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Judith S. Kaye
Service Award for Superior Work Performance by the New York State Court
of Appeals, feted at a Law Day Celebration on Monday, May 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Marie Villari's illustrious career with the New York State
Unified Court System spans more than three decades; today, she holds the
title of Principal Administrative Assistant for the Eighth Judicial
District Office; and
WHEREAS, Known as the Office's personnel expert, Marie Villari is
extremely knowledgeable about everything from health benefits and
retirement to employee training and civil service exams; and
WHEREAS, Marie Villari also oversees the processing of all related
forms for the Eighth Judicial District's 800-plus judges and non-judi-
cial employees; she has been known to stay late to make sure that all
paperwork is in order and that every question is answered; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her daily administrative duties, Marie Villari
volunteers her time and energy to the Unified Court System's job
outreach programs, representing it at college career fairs and other
recruitment events; and
WHEREAS, As a vital member of both the Eighth Judicial District's
Gender and Racial Fairness Committee and its Diversity Committee, Marie
Villari works tirelessly to promote racial and gender fairness in the
courts and strives to enhance minority representation within the court
system's non-judicial work force; and
WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Marie Villari has rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Eighth Judicial District
Office in the New York State Unified Court System; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Principal Administrative Assistant, Marie
Villari has served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Marie Villari has been governed by a
keen sense of duty and has always showed a unique grasp of human prob-
lems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Eighth Judicial District Office,
Marie Villari has earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marie Villari upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Judith S. Kaye Service Award for Superior Work Performance by the
New York State Court of Appeals on May 2, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marie Villari.
