LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Linda S. Muller upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by HONORehg, Inc. on May 17, 2016

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Linda S.
Muller upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
HONORehg, Inc., to be celebrated at its 3rd Annual Dinner on Tuesday,
May 17, 2016, at Falkirk Estate & Country Club, Central Valley, New
York; and
WHEREAS, With the belief that healthcare is a right, not a privilege,
Linda S. Muller has been with Cornerstone Family Healthcare since 1991;
today, as President and CEO, this vision has provided the basis for care
for the more than 23,000 patients who call Cornerstone Family Healthcare
their medical home; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Linda S. Muller, Cornerstone
Family Healthcare has grown significantly; its 60,000 square foot state-
of-the-art medical practice opened in 2010, and seven additional sites
were opened across Newburgh, New Windsor, Goshen and Highland Falls; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Linda S. Muller was instrumental in Cornerstone
Family Healthcare opening its newest facility in Binghamton, New York;
this vital organization is also accredited by the Joint Commission for
delivering high standards of care and is designated by the National
Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level 3 Patient Centered
Medical Home; and
WHEREAS, Linda S. Muller is a highly regarded and respected leader in
the healthcare field; she was recognized by the United States Department
of Health and Human Services, NY HRSA Field Office for her commitment
and distinguished service to improving the health status of the
medically underserved; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she has been recognized by Independent Living,
Newburgh/Highland NAACP, and The Newburgh's Developers Association; in
2004, she was recognized for "Women of Achievement" in the healthcare
field, and by the Times Herald-Record as one of the region's "Top 40
Most Influential Leaders"; and
WHEREAS, In 2011, Linda S. Muller was honored by the Orange County
Human Rights Commission for her efforts in advancing the human rights of
the people of Orange County; the following year, she was recognized by
the Hudson Valley Association of Women & Friends as a person in the
community who makes a difference; she has also received the Elant Signa-
ture Award as well as Leadership Orange's Pinnacle of Leadership Award;
and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Linda S. Muller currently serves
on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Community
Health Care Association of New York State (CHCANYS), Orange County Cham-
ber of Commerce, Elant, and Affinity Health Plan; she is a past member
of the board of the National Association of Community Health Centers
where she currently serves as the Chairman of the Healthcare for the
Homeless Committee; and
WHEREAS, Linda S. Muller attended Orange County Community College
following graduation from Washingtonville High School; she holds a Bach-

elor of Arts degree with honors from SUNY Buffalo in Communications, as
well as a Master's of Science degree with high honors in Health Policy
and Administration from The Robert J. Milano School of Urban Studies at
New School University; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 45 years,
Charles, and their three children, Christopher (Lisa), Jonathan (Donna)
and Jessica (Anthony), as well as six grandchildren, Alexandra, Connor,
Samantha, Lorelei, Evelyn and Macsen, all of whom feel privileged to be
a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Linda S. Muller has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Linda S. Muller upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by HONORehg, Inc. on May 17, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Linda S. Muller.
