LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joseph Meyer upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Joseph Meyer upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a
Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, A native of Jeffersonville, New York, and lifelong golfing
enthusiast, Joseph Meyer participated as a youth golfer on the Catskill
Junior Tour, and worked at the Villa Roma Golf Course as a teenager; and
WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Sullivan West High School in
2005, Joseph Meyer went on to study Physical Education and Kinesiology
at SUNY Cortland; during this time he continued to come home and work at
Villa Roma every summer; and
WHEREAS, After gaining 11 years of experience at Villa Roma, Joseph
Meyer was hired by the Tennanah Lake Golf Course and Tennis Club in
Roscoe, New York, as the Assistant to its former Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, this esteemed man has been responsible for
over-seeing the day-to-day operations of the course, while managing a
staff of 24 employees both inside the clubhouse and outside on the
greens; and
WHEREAS, Today, Joseph Meyer is the Director of Golf and the Super-
intendent of the Tennanah Lake Golf Course and Tennis Club where he
works tirelessly to book events, manage course maintenance, and organize
eight to nine tournaments each year; he also interacts with the golfers
and provides lessons to beginners and children; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Joseph Meyer continues to play golf with his
father in the Villa Roma Golf League, and the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT
tournament where they have won their flight four times; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Joseph Meyer has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joseph Meyer upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph Meyer.
