LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Harriet Brownbridge upon the occa-
sion of celebrating her 100th Birthday
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate and
recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great Nation
and Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Harriet Brownbridge upon the occasion of celebrating her 100th
Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge was born on June 25, 1916, in Ellington,
New York to parents Frank and Frances Price; she graduated in 1933 from
Ellington High School; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge was a homemaker and active in the Elling-
ton factor of the Grange and the New York State Grange; later on in
life, she worked for Sears Roebuck in Jamestown; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge and Raymond Colburn, Sr. are the proud
parents of Raymond Jr., Lucile, Gordon, George and Donald; today, she is
the loving grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge currently resides in Aiken, South Caroli-
na, and occupies much of her time by reading; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge is known by her family as a devoted and
trustworthy individual who always thinks of others before herself; and
WHEREAS, Harriet Brownbridge is beloved by all those who have had the
honor of being in her presence and she has enriched the lives of those
around her through her smile, charm and wisdom, which comes only from
profound fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize and honor the lives of beloved citizens who have reached a remark-
able age and who have witnessed and celebrated the outstanding inno-
vations, cultural developments, and awesome achievements of this country
during the last century; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Harriet Brownbridge upon the occasion of celebrating her
100th Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Harriet Brownbridge.
