LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Nick Liuzzi of Seaford High School
upon the occasion of being named Most Valuable Player at the Long Island
Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth of
today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exem-
plify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation;
and
WHEREAS, It is also the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
the dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish them-
selves through excellence in science and academic competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Nick Liuzzi of Seaford High School upon the occasion of being named
Most Valuable Player at the Long Island Regional FIRST Robotics Competi-
tion held from April 1-2, 2016, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Nick Liuzzi was selected for this prestigious honor among
4,000 students from 51 teams at the Long Island Regional FIRST Robotics
Competition; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Seaford High School and the President of his
school's 35-member robotics team, Nick Liuzzi composed an electronic
song which won the competition's musical theme contest in January, and
which was also played at matches during the regional event; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Nick Liuzzi is the Salutatorian of his graduat-
ing class and a member of the National Honor Society; he is also the
President of his school's Mathletes team, and a member of its Model
Congress, Barbershop Choir and Select Choir; and
WHEREAS, Educational competitions which serve to better prepare our
students for their future participation in the marketplace of ideas are
worthy of praise and support; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, with just pride in his accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by his teachers, coaches and
parents; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when young
scholars of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Nick Liuzzi of Seaford High School upon the occasion of
being named Most Valuable Player at the Long Island Regional FIRST
Robotics Competition, and to wish him all the best in his future endeav-
ors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Nick Liuzzi.
