LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the graduates of Leadership Hunt-
ington, Class of 2016, on June 15, 2016

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the efforts of citizens of the State of New York who organize
themselves for the purpose of improving and enhancing the quality of
life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, As a non-partisan, multi-racial and multi-cultural develop-
ment program, Leadership Huntington is designed to produce well-in-
formed, motivated leaders who are willing and capable of working togeth-
er for the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the graduates of Leadership Huntington, Class of 2016, on June 15,
2016; and
WHEREAS, The Leadership Huntington Class of 2016 includes: Andrea
Bonilla, Alanna Russo, Amber Steiger, Barry Lites, Matthew Dorsey, Gail
Lamberta, Janet Scherer, Kathleen Farrell, Charles Connell, Yvette
Benitz, Shelley Lader-Bader, Joseph Rose, and Diane Palma; and
WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, Leadership Huntington stimu-
lates positive change by engaging and inspiring a broad range of citi-
zens to embrace community trusteeship; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Huntington is a member-driven organization commit-
ted to developing, connecting, and engaging all segments of the communi-
ty by identifying needs and shared values, fostering positive relation-
ships among all sectors, and creating opportunities for member-initiated
and program-endorsed actions to meet those needs; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Huntington is a non-partisan organization whose
members act as responsible leaders with an interest in addressing a
broad spectrum of local and challenging issues that affect the communi-
ty-at-large; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization seeks to expand and improve the qual-
ity and effectiveness of leadership and trusteeship in Huntington by:
bringing together through its development program current and emerging
leaders representing a broad cross-section of the community; enhancing
awareness of the problems, opportunities and resources available; stimu-
lating a commitment to the community to work together toward solving its
problems and making the area a better place in which to live and work;
building and maintaining networks of community leaders who hold the
community in trust; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body recog-
nizes the many contributions of Leadership Huntington, and wishes this
worthy organization continued success in its proactive mission to bene-
fit the communities it represents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the graduates of Leadership Huntington, Class of 2016, on
June 15, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leadership Huntington, and the aforementioned graduates.
